Phasmophobia’s Crimson Eye Hotfix Exorcises Some Pesky Bugs

Phasmophobia Crimson Eye Halloween Event Update Hotfix 2025

Crimson Eye Event Gets a Crucial Phasmophobia Hotfix

Ghost hunters, rejoice – Kinetic Games just cast out a few of the nastier bugs haunting Phasmophobia’s Crimson Eye event.

Phasmophobia’s Halloween event dropped with its fair share of supernatural fun (and supernatural lag), but a few players were getting spooked for all of the wrong reasons.

Lobby connections, random pop-ups, and weird audio were all creeping their way into investigations…and the devs finally decided that enough was enough.

The new Phasmophobia hotfix update (v0.14.2.1) is now live across all platforms, cleaning up some lingering messes from the Crimson Eye patch:

  • Fixed players getting stuck on the “Connecting” screen when joining via friend invite.

  • Removed that random pop-up message when unlocking the Child of the Cult foil badge.

  • Main menu radio now plays the correct Crimson Eye sounds again.

  • CCTV performance has been stabilized, so no more lag until you stare straight into the lens.

It’s a small update, but one that’ll make a noticeable difference if you’ve been grinding through the Blood Moon event. Being able to actually join your friends without staring at a frozen “Connecting” screen?

That’s the kind of fix that makes ghost hunting fun again.

This patch doesn’t add new content or change event objectives – it’s more of a digital smudge stick to clear out the tech gremlins.

Still, smoother menus and cleaner CCTV performance mean less time troubleshooting and more time screaming at shadow figures in the corner.

If you run into any new bugs while chasing those event rewards, Kinetic Games wants players to drop feedback in the official Phasmophobia Discord. They’ve been pretty quick on the draw this month, so it’s worth speaking up if something still feels off.

Bottom line – this hotfix isn’t flashy, but it keeps the Crimson Eye event playable, stable, and spooky the way it should be.
Now get back in there, grab your EMF reader, and maybe tell your friends you’ll actually connect this time.
