The Blood Moon is back, baby, and it’s staring straight into your soul.
From October 9th through the 31st, Phasmophobia’s Crimson Eye event rises again, turning the world red and your nerves to mush. Sure, this isn’t our first dance with the all-seeing Eye, but this year brings a fresh spin: map reworks, smarter rotation cycles, and some funderful tweaks to keep the chaos feeling new.
So grab your smudge sticks and strap in for some Halloween fun.
Let’s talk about what’s coming, how to survive it, and why this returning nightmare might just be the breather Kinetic Games needs before they inevitably unleash their long-awaited Horror 2.0 update.
When that crimson glow fills the sky, you already know the deal. Ghosts go feral, sanity drains like cheap wine, and your only real weapon is teamwork (and maybe an adult diaper).

For 2025, the Crimson Eye event keeps the spirit of last year’s Blood Moon but with a few upgrades for both veterans and rookies. You’ll once again be tasked with completing community and personal goals to unlock rewards, but the event’s real trick lies in the map rotation and reworked environments.
Combine the recent reworks of Bleasdale Farmhouse and Grafton Farmhouse with daily rotations and guaranteed Blood Moon weather, and suddenly the same ritual feels a whole lot fresher.
During the event, seven maps will be tainted with the funsies of the Blood Moon’s curse:
6 Tanglewood Drive
Camp Woodwind
Grafton Farmhouse
Bleasdale Farmhouse
Point Hope
42 Edgefield Road
13 Willow Street
Only four of these maps will feature guaranteed Blood Moon weather each day. The rest will rotate, meaning you’ll have to plan your investigations carefully if you want those sweet boosted rewards.

Not in rotation today? Don’t panic.
Other maps still have a random chance to be drenched in blood-red moonlight; you just won’t know until you load in so may the odds be ever in your favor.
And yes, “boosted rewards” are back. Complete investigations during the Blood Moon and you’ll score an extra 10% bonus on top of your usual payout. The tradeoff is faster ghosts, shorter sanity windows, and zero mercy – just the way we like it.
As always, the Crimson Eye rewards players who lean into the madness. There’s a split between Community Goals and Personal Goals, so you can make progress solo or as part of the global ghost-hunting effort.
Goal 1: Unlock the Child of the Cult ID Card and Badge set.
Goal 2: Unlock the Blood Moon Trophy (if you don’t already have one from last year).

Goal 1: Earn the animated Child of the Cult ID Card.
Goal 2: Upgrade the Crimson Eye Trophy up to three times.
Once these milestones are met, rewards are auto-claimed. I kind of wish there were some weird rituals or sacrificial smudge sticks to give the climax a little more “oomph”, but again…whatever.
Let’s be honest, you’re probably going to die. I’d bet more than once.
For real though, that’s half the fun, right? Here are a few survival tips to help you last longer under that blood-stained light:
With reworks in Bleasdale and Grafton, make sure you learn the new hiding spots if you haven’t already. Practice the new routes early because your survival depends on it. While a lot of these are going to be reworked for this year, you can check out our 2024 Phasmophobia Crimson Eye Guide to brush up!
Splitting up might sound fun until your teammate’s corpse becomes the next EMF spike. Teamwork makes the dream work and keeps the Eye fed and your XP flowing.
Totems, cursed objects, ghost events – try all of your new ghost hunting equipment we received with the Chronicle update. Not only do you rack up points faster, but you also contribute toward those community milestones.
Sanity drains faster under the Blood Moon. Don’t chug pills early – save them for when the Eye’s glow really starts to mess with your head and know what sanity ghosts start hunting!
They’re not party favors. Use them when you need them during a hunt, not for celebrating the Blood Moon.
The new audio balance in reworked maps is subtle – creaks, floorboards, and wind – but paying attention can mean the difference between spotting a hunt early or dying in total confusion.
The 10% reward bonus is tempting, but getting greedy during a hunt wave is how you end up on the next player’s highlight reel and your money in the toilet.
Sure, some players will call this a rerun – and they’re not wrong.
The Crimson Eye event has returned with the same core mechanics as last year. But Kinetic Games isn’t just recycling content, they’re recalibrating priorities.
The devs have already hinted that they’re making adjustments to this event to keep it smoother and more rewarding. It’s also clear that by reusing a fan-favorite event, they’re freeing up time to focus on the long-awaited Horror 2.0 update, the next big evolution for Phasmophobia.
And honestly? That’s a win to me.

Phasmo doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel every Halloween. It just needs to keep the hunt fresh while the devs prepare to roll out new ghosts, mechanics, and systems that could redefine the game entirely.
So while you’re hunting under the Eye’s glow, remember this: the event is the calm before the next big storm.
Enjoy the chaos, grab your rewards, and get ready for what’s next, because Winter Halloween is coming.
The Crimson Eye watches. The Blood Moon rises. And we’re all fools running toward it with flashlights, cameras, and stupid smiles on our faces.
Whether you’re returning to farm rewards or diving in for the first time, this year’s Crimson Eye event still nails what makes Phasmophobia so damn good: eerie atmosphere, epic gameplay, and just enough unpredictability to keep your pulse pounding.
You don’t need new ghosts to feel new fear. Sometimes all it takes is a familiar face in a darker room.
Happy hunting, ghost hunters. The Eye is waiting for you.
If you haven’t tried this amazing game yet for some crazy reason, make sure to try Phasmophobia for yourself on Steam!

Hi, I'm the founder and editor-in-chief of Report AFK, a gaming and anime site built for people who are tired of sanitized mainstream media coverage and toothless hot takes. I want to bring both the technical know-how and battle-tested gamer instincts to every article here. Whether I'm deep-diving into ARAM strats, roasting a broken patch, or side-eyeing the latest "diverse" but soulless AAA release, I write with one goal in mind: cut the fluff and tell it how it is. I've worked in digital marketing and spoke in conferences nationwide, but my heart’s always been in the trenches of gaming - whether that’s grinding ladders, theorycrafting late at night, or binge-watching the 38th questionable isekai this season. Follow my rants, insights, and updates on ReportAFK.com and let me know what you think in the comments - I read (and usually respond to) every. single. one.

Hey Chase, thanks for dropping by! I’m excited too and can’t wait to see what changes they’ve made from last year!

JUST THE SAME FROM LAST YEAR?? HOW HARD WOULD IT BE TO MAKE A NEW EVENT?

Hey “lame” (lol), it is the same from last year thematically, but they’ve made some tweaks and map rotations to keep it fresh so I’m personally ok with it. Plus, if they’re constantly making new holiday events, they’ll never have time to work on the big meaty updates that we all want for the game. So I kinda see your point, but I still think it’s better to look at the big picture. Either way, thanks for coming by and let me know if you still feel that way after the event starts and you get a chance to play it.
