Path of Exile 2 Third Edict Livestream Twitch Drops

Watch PoE2, Get Loot: Twitch Drop Madness on August 20

Grinding Gear Games is once again setting Twitch on fire – literally. On Wednesday, August 20th, Path of Exile 2 will take center stage with the Third Edict livestream.

And if you can sit still for 45 minutes while someone else does the grinding, you’ll walk away with the Sun Priest’s Incineration Rare Finisher Effect courtesy of Twitch Drops.

That’s right – log in, link up, watch some explosions, and your character gets to finish fights with some funderful holy fire.

How to Claim Your Fiery Freebie

The drop system is as simple as it is generous:

It’s free. It’s flashy. It’s the kind of thing that would normally cost you a few bucks, but here it’s basically a loyalty bonus for showing up.

Don’t forget to grab it from your Twitch Inventory, or you’ll end up crying in Standard League with nothing to show for it.

The Meteoric Rise of Path of Exile 2

PoE2 dropped into Early Access on December 6, 2024, and the launch wasn’t just big, it was volcanic. The game immediately shot up Steam’s global top sellers list, snagging #2 worldwide, second only to Counter-Strike 2 (which, mind you, is free-to-play).

The player count surge was absurd and still doing well for an Early Access release.

Reddit users were speculating that 500k to 1 million players were grinding away within the first week alone (and they were right).

It was one of the most chaotic launches we’ve seen in years – Wraeclast had basically turned into the Diablo refugee camp, and players loved it.

Nerfs, Hotfixes, and the Cycle of Pain

Of course, with great hype comes great bugs.

Within days, Grinding Gear Games hit the community with the nerf hammer: overpowered builds like Supercharged Slam and Magnetic Salvo got whacked, forcing players back to the passive tree drawing board.

But it wasn’t all doom and nerfs. Patch 0.1.1 and 0.2.0 brought much-needed quality-of-life improvements: fast travel, cheaper respecs, better loot clarity, and smoother performance.

Path of Exile 2’s Wiki patch coverage laid out the changes, and for once, Reddit wasn’t just rioting – it was actually clapping. Some fan reactions summed it up best:

The monster changes are top tier. Nearly every mob that I had issues with got fixed. Vulture leap distance, snake spit damage, the Zealot meteor, prowling shade invisibility, etc. Honestly super impressed with how bang on the changes are.

GGG has always thrived in chaos, and Path of Exile 2 has doubled down on that cycle: launch big, nerf hard, patch fast. It’s messy, but it’s also part of what makes the game fun to follow.

When is Path of Exile 2's Full Release Coming?

Here’s the kicker: don’t hold your breath for a full Path of Exile 2 release in 2025

Polish takes time, and GGG isn’t rushing.

In the meantime, their roadmap is all about stability, endgame rewards, and more build options. Expect more hotfixes, more balancing, and plenty of “your build is now dead” memes before PoE2 reaches a “final” state.

For the faithful exile, that means sticking it out through leagues, patches, and whatever the hell else GGG throws our way.

The ride may be bumpy, but at least it’s always fiery.

So Here's Your PoE 2 To-Do List

Link your Twitch account, set a reminder for August 20th at 1 PM PDT, and get ready to score that free Sun Priest Finisher while PoE2 continues to melt keyboards and servers worldwide.

Path of Exile 2 has already proven it can launch like a meteor strike and keep the chaos rolling with nonstop balance changes. Whether you’re in it for the loot, the builds, or just the flex of having a flaming finisher, this event is worth the 45 minutes.

Wraeclast isn’t cooling down anytime soon. Grab your popcorn, link your Twitch, and prepare to watch the fire spread.
