Hold on to your controllers, Ghost Hunters, because things are about to get fast and furious in REPO!
The next update adds a brand new way to traverse the terrifying, monster-infested levels: vehicles. That’s right, no more jogging your way through treacherous corridors like some kind of doom bound marathoner. Now you can ride into chaos…and it’s gonna be glorious!
So, what exactly does this new vehicle update bring? Grab your helmets and let’s take a ride!
The devs at semiwork have dropped some big news for REPO players: vehicles are officially coming! And just in time too, because running around, dodging funderful monsters, and scrounging for junk was starting to feel like a real workout.
The Semiscooter is the first vehicle to hit the game, and it’s looking pretty damn fun. While it’s not exactly a tank, it’s certainly a new way to buzz around and maybe get yourself killed faster.
I’m excited, because adding vehicles also opens up the possibility of entirely new level designs, with future maps potentially tailored to accommodate them.
Yes, that means vehicle-friendly corridors and ramps could be in our future. Could we see a demolition derby style level?
Only time will tell.
Let’s talk about the Semiscooter, the first officially announced vehicle.
For now, it’s the only option in the game, but that doesn’t mean it’s just a placeholder. Oh no, this thing is here to shake things up.
Think of it as the perfect mix of moped and monster magnet. It’s not fast enough to outrun everything, but it’s definitely fast enough to speed right into a horrific ambush.
The Semiscooter adds a lot of fun to the gameplay, giving you a new way to evade, explore, or just haul ass when things get tense. And if you’re lucky (or reckless), maybe you’ll even survive long enough to make it to the next extractor…but I doubt it.
Here’s the thing: vehicles aren’t just a cosmetic add-on.
The Semiscooter (and any future vehicles) will change the pacing of the game entirely. REPO has always been about slow, strategic movement, with tension building as you navigate dark, creepy levels.
With the Semiscooter, you’ll have the ability to loudly zip around, probably creating new types of chaos as you do.
Do you risk driving your vehicle like a maniac through hordes of monsters, knowing that you’ll probably draw monsters like a magnet while bouncing around the map like a deranged Leeroy Jenkins pinball? Or do you take it slow and steady, trying to stay under the radar?
Either way, it means more choices, more tension, and more fun. And let’s be real – that’s what we all live for in games like REPO in the first place!
Subtle subtitle request? Give us some ramps!
The inclusion of vehicles doesn’t just affect gameplay. It also opens up new possibilities for level design. Right now, the game is full of tight hallways and claustrophobic rooms. But now that the devs are thinking about vehicles in future levels, it’s possible we’ll see larger, more open spaces…maybe even levels built to accommodate high-speed chases?
Think about some big ol’ ramps, jump pads, or open spaces where you can unleash absolute havoc with your Semiscooter.
That’s right, the levels are about to get bigger, faster, and possibly more ridiculous. Who knows? You might end up in a level designed for full vehicle carnage where everything is about dodging monsters, leaping over gaps, and getting through unscathed.
Along with the vehicle update comes cosmetics, as previously teased.
You’ve already seen some of the cool skins and items that players can unlock, and the addition of vehicles just opens up more opportunities for customization.
While we don’t know everything yet, it’s pretty reasonable to assume that future updates could include vehicle skins, new decals, and maybe even cosmetic items like helmets or custom tires.
Maybe you can slap a giant skull on the back of your Semiscooter, or add a flame decal that screams “I’m going to run over everything.” Either way, it’s a cool, fun way to express yourself while plowing through the chaos.
Ok, the Semiscooter looks pretty sick, but now that you’ve seen the future of REPO, what vehicle would you add next?
A monster truck that flattens everything? A ghost bus to mow down monsters? Drop your ideas in the comments below – I want to hear all of your craziest vehicle ideas!
