This seasonal transformation brings a fresh aesthetic to your matches, immersing you in the vibrant hues and serene ambiance of Ionia’s Spirit Blossom Festival. It’s not just a visual treat; it’s a whole vibe.
Thornbound Atakhan: One Demon to Rule Them All This Patch
Atakhan returns with a twist. Previously, we had Voracious and Ruinous forms, but now, meet Thornbound Atakhan. This singular form spawns on the side of the map with the most PvP action and introduces new mechanics:
Bloody Roses: Spawn near kills and around Atakhan’s pit.
Spirit Petals: Cleansed Bloody Petals granting 25% increased XP and Adaptive Force.
Spiritual Purification Buff: On takedown, blesses the area, slowing and damaging nearby enemies, and grants your team a Spirit Petal.

Defeating Thornbound Atakhan not only shifts the tide of battle but also adds a strategic layer to your gameplay.
Bounty System Overhaul: Fairer Comebacks
Riot’s reworked the bounty system to make comebacks more attainable:
Objective Bounties: Now pay up to 10% of the gold difference on top of the base bounty payment, capped at 1000g total.
Champion Bounties: Suppressed unless a team is moderately ahead, preventing snowballing from isolated fed players.
Base Kill Gold: Scales up by 10g per level from level 7-18, maxing at 420g.
These changes aim to reward team efforts over individual dominance.
Void Epic Monsters: Streamlined Encounters in League for 25.09
Early-to-mid game objectives have been adjusted:
Void Grubs: Spawn timer increased to 8:00 minutes; no longer respawn.
Rewards: Grant Hunger of the Void after killing 3 Grubs; DoT from Touch of the Void deals more damage at higher stacks.
Rift Herald: Spawns at 15:00 minutes; removed Herald’s Gaze debuff; damage adjustments for a faster encounter.

Role Swapping & Position Binding: Smarter Assignments

Support: Automatically given World Atlas as a starting item.
Role Swapping: Players can now swap roles in champ select, allowing for better team coordination.

There are quite a few champ changes that you can find in 25.09, but my two favorite are Ahri and Annie:

Ahri: Armor growth decreased; W damage adjusted; E damage increased.
Annie: Health growth decreased; Q and W damage increased; R gains a new magic penetration passive.
These tweaks aim to pump up their power and encourage some more builds. I can’t wait to see how these changes shake up the meta!
