Gaming NewsNew Releases 9 33 1 Ayefkay June 10, 2025
Brace yourselves, hunters – because Capcom just dropped confirmation that Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds is landing at the end of June, and yeah… it’s bringing the kind of chaos we like to see. There’s style, there’s scale, and there’s something long, scaly, and pissed off swimming straight toward us.
You might want to stock up on traps – and a good tailor that’s skilled in the art of adult diapers.
That’s right – Lagiacrus, the king of the sea and the OG electrosaur from hell, is officially back.
After years of teasing, fan petitions, and salty forum posts, this serpentine bastard is slithering back into our monster-hunting rotation. And yes, we’re already prepping our water-resistant pants.
Hunters, Free Title Update 2 will release at the end of this month!

We’re excited to share with you that TU2 will release at the end of June, bringing new monsters to the hunt, plus layered weapons and other adjustments and improvements announced in the Director’s Letter! pic.twitter.com/ev3wJ3QRrm
Whether you’re a long-time fan from the Monster Hunter Tri days or you’ve just seen the memes, you need to understand: Lagiacrus doesn’t play. He’s not here to be your friend. He’s here to ruin your lunch break with a thunderstorm in your face.
Alongside Mr. Electric Eel from Hell, TU2 is also dropping “new monsters” (plural – thank you Capcom for not baiting us with just one), Tempered and Arch-Tempered variants, and some beefy endgame content to really test your squad’s patience.
The devs have been vague about which other monsters are joining the party, but I’m betting on at least one surprise that’ll make us cry in the loading screen. Maybe a returning Elder? Maybe something we haven’t seen before? One thing’s for sure – it won’t be polite.
And if you’re not ready for Arch-Tempered fights, get ready to be curb-stomped into next week. These beasts hit harder than your last bad breakup.
Let’s be honest – half of us are out here playing dress-up with axes. Good news: layered weapons are finally coming in TU2. You’ll finally be able to flex that bone club skin you love without sacrificing your sweaty meta stats. You can have both power and personality – like a real monster-slaying influencer.
Capcom’s long overdue on this feature, and if they mess it up, we riot. But assuming they don’t? Expect your timeline to flood with screenshots of hunter drip more curated than your ex’s Instagram.
The dev team also confirmed that TU2 will include some quality-of-life tweaks and balance updates. That probably means less UI rage-clicking, a couple over-nerfed weapons getting justice, and (hopefully) a fix to that one bug where your Palico gets stuck teabagging a corpse for eternity.
If you’ve been holding off on a main weapon because it felt off, this might be the patch that brings it back into the spotlight. Sharpen those greatswords and dust off that bowgun.
If you’re like me, you’re already hoarding Mega Potions and sharpening your dual blades in anticipation. We know TU2 is gonna be free, and it’s going to hit before the month’s out, so if you’re not prepped now, you’re asking to get clapped by a monster with glowing blue eyes and anger issues.
Also, the Hammer is planned to receive various improvements in Title Update 2 in addition to the adjustments made in this update, including the addition of offset effects for certain attacks and the addition of a follow-up attack upon a successful offset.
Other weapons will also receive changes in Title Update 2 such as the Dual Blades.
Note: Weapons will continue to receive changes in future updates.
And let’s not ignore the fact that Monster Hunter Wilds has already delivered one slick crossover in Title Update 1 (Akuma from Street Fighter literally punching monsters into next Tuesday). If they bring that same chaotic energy to TU2, we’re in for something special.
This might also be the perfect time to revisit our Monster Hunter Wilds: Everything You Need to Know guide. Whether you’re a greenhorn or a returning vet, you’ll find some helpful starting points before TU2 melts your face off.
And if you’re a hammer main who lives to bonk, we also recommend the Ultimate Hammer Build Guide – because if you’re going to go down swinging, do it with style and max DPS.
Capcom isn’t just handing us scraps here – this is real content. Lagiacrus, new monsters, layered weapon swag, and balance fixes in one free update? Yes, chef.
But if TU2 doesn’t light a fire in your gear-grinding soul, you might want to check your pulse. The Wilds are getting wilder, and we’ll be right there – sharpened, stylish, and slightly unhinged.
