Dan Da Dan Season 2: Release Date and What’s Coming Next

Dan Da Dan Season 2 Everything You Need to Know

Everything You Need to Know About Dan Da Dan Season 2

If you made it through Season 1 of Dan Da Dan without asking yourself, “Did I just watch a grandma headbutt a ghost alien into a pile of balls?” — congrats, you’re either lying or already a fan of this absolute fever dream of a series.

And now, we’re on the edge of our seats (or, let’s be real, laying face-down in our gaming chairs) waiting for Season 2 to drop.

So what do we actually know about Dan Da Dan Season 2 so far?

A decent amount, actually — and a lot more if you’re willing to peek over the manga wall. But even without major spoilers, we’ve got enough info to get the hype train rolling at mach speed.

Dan Da Dan Season 2 is officially real, it’s coming in hot, and it’s already looking like it’s gonna slap harder than Jiji possessed by a homicidal eyeball. Season 1 gave us a masterclass in chaotic storytelling—with aliens, yokai, psychic showdowns, and horny ghost grandmas.

Now Season 2 is diving headfirst into one of the most intense arcs of the manga: the Evil Eye Arc. And no, this isn’t just some teaser arc or slow buildup. They’re throwing us directly into the supernatural deep end, and we’re not even mad about it.

Let’s get into it!

Dan Da Dan Season 2 Plot

Now, let’s talk plot. Season 2 kicks off with the Evil Eye Arc, one of the darkest and most emotional storylines in the manga—and yeah, it’s coming at us full-force. If you thought Momo and Okarun had a tough time with ghost butts and alien balls, buckle up.

This arc involves Jiji, Momo’s childhood friend who ends up becoming possessed by a vicious entity called the Avatar of Hatred who possesses the Evil Eye.

And we’re not talking about a low-tier anime curse here.

The Avatar of Hatred is rage incarnate, a curse so bitter and broken that it fully hijacks Jiji’s body and uses him as a meat puppet to unleash carnage.

It’s creepy, it’s tragic, and it’s metal as hell.

Watching the gang try to save their friend while fighting for their lives adds some heavy emotional weight, especially since Momo is stuck between her past and present relationships.

The “friend-turned-possessed-killing-machine” trope is getting the Dan Da Dan treatment, which means it’s gonna hurt, and it’s gonna look damn good doing it.

Mo' Powers, Mo' Problems

Okarun’s turbo-speed alien energy and Momo’s psychic punch-machine powers were already leveling up toward the end of Season 1, but we haven’t even hit the spicy part yet.

Season 2 isn’t just raising the stakes emotionally—it’s going to blow the lid off the power scaling, too.

Okarun’s turbo-charged speedball powers are bound to evolve under pressure, and Momo’s psychic skills are becoming more refined (and brutal).

If the adaptation follows the manga closely, we’re going to see these two hit new highs—and lows—as they desperately try to exorcise the Evil Eye without destroying what’s left of Jiji in the process.

And speaking of trauma, there are some absolutely unhinged moments in this arc that fans of the manga already know are going to melt Twitter timelines.

Without giving too much away: get ready for gross body horror, emotional meltdowns, and some of the most jaw-dropping animation this side of a Chainsaw Man episode.

So When is the Dan Da Dan Season 2 Release Date?

Crunchyroll officially confirmed it: Dan Da Dan Season 2 premieres on July 3rd, 2025

But here’s where it gets spicy—before the full season launch, the first three episodes are getting a worldwide theatrical premiere. Yeah, you read that right. Starting June 6th, anime fans outside Japan will get a chance to see the opening episodes on the big screen, under the title Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye.

This isn’t just a glorified recap or a budget-saving “TV cut” stitched together for a quick cash grab.

These are fresh episodes straight from the new season, screening as a cinematic event—because apparently we’re all classy cinephiles now.

And honestly? We’re here for it.

The Creepy Nuts Dilemma: Will the OP Ever Hit That Hard Again?

Look. We need to talk about the elephant in the room—or more specifically, the absolute banger of an opening theme that was “Otonablue” by Creepy Nuts.

That song didn’t just slap, it nuked the entire season into the stratosphere and even made it onto our “Best Anime Songs of All Time” list.

From the glitchy visuals to the infectious beat, it was a rare perfect storm where the music, the editing, and the energy all synced up to something iconic.

You don’t skip that intro. You vibe with it like your life depends on it.

But here’s the gut punch: all signs point to Season 2 getting a new OP, which is standard for anime seasons but still feels like a personal attack.

Is Creepy Nuts returning? Unlikely.

Are we hopeful? Always.

But realistically, the studio’s probably moving on to match the darker, more intense tone of the Evil Eye Arc.

Now, here’s what should happen: they keep Creepy Nuts on the track, but change the visuals entirely to reflect the horror-drenched madness of Season 2, and call it a day.

But this is anime.

So what will probably happen? A decent track by someone else that just doesn’t hit the same.

Not terrible, but not “I looped this for two hours at 3am” level good.

The Season 2 Hype Is Real (and Deserved)

Dan Da Dan has already carved out a name for itself as one of the freshest and weirdest entries in modern anime—and that’s saying a lot in a post-Jujutsu Kaisen/Chainsaw Man world.

What makes it stand out is its willingness to go off the rails while still giving a damn about character development.

Season 2 doubling down on that formula, while also getting a rare theatrical debut, is a massive vote of confidence from the production team.

Science SARU is still in the driver’s seat, and with Fuga Yamashiro and Abel Góngora co-directing, we’re likely in for a treat when it comes to animation. Their style is fluid, frantic, and fearless—exactly what this arc needs.

TL;DR (But Why Would You?): Here’s What You Need to Know

  • Dan Da Dan Season 2 premieres July 3, 2025, on Crunchyroll.

  • The Evil Eye Arc kicks off the new season—expect horror, heartbreak, and some absolute banger battles.

  • A theatrical screening of the first 3 episodes will hit non-Japanese markets starting June 6.

  • Creepy Nuts probably won’t return for the opening. We are already mourning.

  • Science SARU is back with even more gorgeous madness.

Possessed Friends, Psychic Beatdowns, and Our Copium

Season 2 of Dan Da Dan isn’t pulling its punches. It’s jumping straight into the darkest arc yet, aiming to rip your heart out one cursed eyeball at a time.

With a confirmed release date, exclusive early screenings, and more of that wild supernatural mayhem we all fell in love with, it’s shaping up to be one of the most talked-about anime events of 2025.

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be blasting “Otonablue” on repeat until July and praying to the anime gods for a Creepy Nuts encore. Or at least an OP that doesn’t make us want to skip it after week two.
