Phasmophobia is back again with a new update on the way, and no, it’s not another bug fix disguised as content. We’re talking a full-blown Grafton Farmhouse rework, some shiny new Twitch Drops, and an upcoming map that sounds like it was plucked straight out of a haunted Grease remake.
That’s right, Nell’s Diner is officially in development, and we’re already dreaming of ghost-infested milkshakes.
Kinetic Games has been absolutely cookin’ since the Chronicle update and I’m here for it!
Let’s break it down, because between the animated cosmetics and a haunted house facelift, you’re gonna want to dust off your EMF reader whether you like it or not.
Kinetic Games is reviving the Twitch Drop train, and they’re dangling some pretty sick little digital trinkets in front of your face to get you watching their Partner streamers. Here’s the breakdown:
August 7–8, 2025: Watch any Kinetic Games Partner stream for 1 hour to earn the animated Reaper ID card and badge. Yes, animated. Because static pixels are for plebs.
August 12–26, 2025: The standard (read: non-animated) version of the Reaper ID and badge will be available just by watching any Phasmophobia Twitch stream.
Just make sure your Twitch account is linked to your game account unless you like yelling at your screen when your rewards don’t show up.
Grafton Farmhouse has always had “I saw something in the woods once” energy, but with this rework, Kinetic Games is making it less “rural Craigslist nightmare” and more “actually scary farmhouse.”
The Grafton Farmhouse rework launches on August 12th, and if you want a sneak peek, you’ll want to catch the Ghost Tour streams on August 7th and 8th.
These streams will showcase the overhauled Grafton map in action as Kinetic Games Partners tiptoe through it for the first time – and probably get their cheeks clapped by a Demon within five minutes.
Expect visual upgrades, layout improvements, and probably a ghost that knows how to operate a door more efficiently than you.
Tucked inside this dev preview is the reveal of a brand-new map in development: Nell’s Diner. We don’t know much yet. Kinetic’s keeping it vague. But the idea of a haunted 1950s-style diner is enough to get us immediately overinvested.
Greasy tables, flickering neon signs, ghostly whispers in the jukebox? Inject it straight into our veins. If there’s not a dead cook in the freezer or a banshee screaming from the bathroom stall, we’re gonna be disappointed. You heard us, Kinetic. We’ve got expectations.
The diner isn’t dropping just yet, but it’s slated for “later this year.” Which in Phasmophobia dev time probably means somewhere between three more dev previews and a hard place.
While it may seem right around the corner, I would expect a drop like this to be coming likely around Halloween 2025, but only time will tell.
Kinetic also teased more Twitch Drops in the future, including collabs (like with the American Heart Association?) and actual player cosmetics once the Player Character update drops. So yes, soon you’ll be able to not only die in style – you’ll also look good doing it.
And frankly? We’re here for it. Let the ghost rip your spine out while you’re wearing a limited-edition Halloween hoodie. Why not.
Between the cosmetic bait, the Grafton glow-up, and that ominous promise of Nell’s Diner, Phasmo’s making moves again – and it’s working. We’re all suckers for animated name tags and jump scares.
So here’s your to-do list:
Link your Twitch account (do it now, don’t be that person).
Watch a stream August 7–8 for the animated Reaper ID.
Boot up Grafton on August 12 and let the fear set in.
You’re not done ghost hunting yet. And neither are we.

Hi, I'm the founder and editor-in-chief of Report AFK, a gaming and anime site built for people who are tired of sanitized mainstream media coverage and toothless hot takes. I want to bring both the technical know-how and battle-tested gamer instincts to every article here. Whether I'm deep-diving into ARAM strats, roasting a broken patch, or side-eyeing the latest "diverse" but soulless AAA release, I write with one goal in mind: cut the fluff and tell it how it is. I've worked in digital marketing and spoke in conferences nationwide, but my heart’s always been in the trenches of gaming - whether that’s grinding ladders, theorycrafting late at night, or binge-watching the 38th questionable isekai this season. Follow my rants, insights, and updates on ReportAFK.com and let me know what you think in the comments - I read (and usually respond to) every. single. one.
A place for gamers, by gamers, untarnished by corporate gaming media and their nonstop attempts to elevate bad games while denouncing any developers brave enough to stand up to them.
