Marvel Rivals 3.5 Update: Blade Joins, Knull Returns, Don’t AFK

Marvel Rivals 3.5 Update Blade Arises

Marvel Rivals 3.5 Update Breakdown

Welcome back to some more funderful Marvel Rivals news, where the stakes are high, the skins are hot, and the penalties for going AFK might actually make you sweat more than a 1v5 against Iron Fist. Update 3.5 drops on August 8, 2025, and it’s packing more than just a few shiny cosmetics.

Don’t worry, there’s plenty of those too.

Blade Ascends...Literally

First off, Blade is officially slicing his way into the roster. And this isn’t your granddad’s vampire slayer. He’s now wielding Phoenix fire AND the abyss because subtlety is dead and buried in this game’s lore. His debut bundle comes with costumes, emojis, dynamic moods, and probably the power to bankrupt your wallet.

New lore entries are also here, including Cut to the Chase (Blade), The Celestial Iron Man (Tony goes full god-mode), and The Deepest Bond (Rocket Raccoon probably cries).

Lore fans, dinner is served.

Marvel Rivals Queen's Codex Event

Time-limited (but not really) event alert! The Queen’s Codex is rolling out with a free Symbiote-Thing costume and a premium track that nets you Hela’s new “Queen in Black” drip and more cosmetics.

Once you buy in, there’s no time limit. Procrastinators, rejoice – you’ve found your new seasonal home.

Features That Actually Matter (and Some That Don’t)

  • Custom muted words in chat are now a thing. Tired of seeing the word “nerf”? Filter it out. Live in denial in your safe space all you want now.

  • Chat has a Faction tab now. Useful? Maybe.

  • You can now spam emojis while KO’d. Finally, express your existential dread in real time.

Rank, Matchmaking & Penalty Changes in 3.5 Update

Now here’s where it gets spicy:

  • Rank matchmaking is more restrictive the higher you go. Bronze-Gold players can queue with most of your friends. But Celestial and above? You’re basically soloing unless you’ve got a duo.

  • Disconnects and AFKs are being punished like they’re criminal offenses. Get booted early? Penalty. Go AFK for a few? Penalty. Blink and your internet drops? Guess what – it’s a penalty. Repeat offenders can get up to a 20-hour competitive ban. RIP your grind.

But hey, your innocent teammates might actually get rank point compensation now, so there’s a tiny silver lining to your rage quit.

Balance, Bug Fixes, & Spider-Swinging Shenanigans

Iron Fist, Phoenix, and Wolverine no longer leap like they’re auditioning for The Matrix. Venom’s emotes are smoother. And Spider-Man can now toggle between manual and simple web-slinging, so you can crash into walls however you like.

PC players also get a long-awaited upgrade. No more forced shader compilation on launch. Instead, shaders load in the background. Just don’t jump into a match too soon unless you enjoy stutters, lag, and catastrophic framerate drops.

TL;DR: New hero, new event, new cosmetics, and the penalty system now has more layers than Hela’s mascara.

Marvel Rivals 3.5 update is shaping up to be a meaty mid-season drop with enough content to keep you grinding…and just enough rules to make sure you think twice before rage quitting.

Stay tuned, stay sweaty, and stay out of penalty jail.
