Well well well, look who decided to patch their game like responsible devs.
Palworld v0.6.4 is here – swooping in hot off the back of the even more bug-stompy v0.6.2 – and while it’s not a full content drop, it’s loaded with fixes, tweaks, and one big ‘ol oversized celestial tentacle monster who would like a word with your underleveled squad.
Let’s dig into the patch notes and see what PocketPair hath wrought, and whether it’s finally safe to summon Pals without triggering a catastrophic team wipe.
Before we get to the shiny stuff, let’s pour one out for Palworld v0.6.2 – aka “The Hotfix That Saved Your Pals (Sometimes).” This patch was all about squashing the bugs that had PS5 players screaming into the void. If your save file was corrupted, congrats: it’s still dead.
But hey, you won’t corrupt new ones anymore, so…progress?
PS5 Save Limit: Autosaves now cap at 10. More than that and your system used to explode. Now it just quietly gives up.
Dimensional Storage Pals No Longer Yeet Themselves into the Shadow Realm: Good news! Your ghost Pals won’t vanish during dungeon runs anymore. Probably.
Stability for Console Peasants: Xbox and PS5 both got some optimization love. Less crashing, more dying in-game like nature intended.
If v0.6.2 was the cleanup crew, v0.6.4 is the dungeon boss kicking down your front door with a shotgun full of content and minor fixes.
The headline act here is the arrival of Moon Lord [Master], a nightmare-tier version of the Palworld x Terraria crossover raid boss that already made most of us question our life choices.
This new flavor of Moon Lord requires a special Celestial Sigil [Master] to summon. So, y’know…go grind some tears and blood and get crafting.
No More Unwanted Brawls: Your summoned Pals won’t randomly punch neutral mobs anymore. No more “oops, we accidentally aggroed the planet, have fun” moments.
Expedition Buffs: High-level Pals don’t just reduce expedition time – they now increase loot drops. Min-maxers, rejoice! Everyone else? Pretend you knew this already.
Auto-Return on Death: Summoned Pals now return to base when you die. Revolutionary stuff here, folks. Like, basic logic-level revolutionary.
Enemy Bases Stay Dead: Once you wipe out a hostile encampment, they don’t respawn. It’s not much, but it’s honest game design.

This patch is also chock full of smaller (but essential) fixes that make Palworld suck just a little less in the moments that count:
Mission reset bug = yeeted.
Partner skills like Herbil’s no longer softlock you.
Moon Lord part-targeting now works properly! No more infinite flailing after killing an eyeball.
Dimension storage ghosting bug = squashed again. Hopefully for real this time.
Honestly, it reads like a bug-fix bingo card. And for once, they’re calling out all the right squares.
Look, it’s not flashy. No new Pals. No legendary weapons made of yummy moon juice. But this patch matters because:
It stabilizes the game for PS5 players who were playing roulette with every autosave.
It encourages smart builds, with expedition loot scaling and less Pal…derpiness?
It finally gives veterans a real raid boss to chew on while they wait for the next major update.
If you’ve been on the fence about diving back in, now might be the time. Fewer bugs, more loot, harder boss fights – what’s not to love?
Let’s be real, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows:
Still no content refresh for casual players or collectors.
Corrupted save files on PS5 are still permanently borked – nothing short of divine intervention (or modding) can fix that.
And yes, we’re still in Early Access, which means your base might spontaneously combust next patch. Embrace the chaos.
Nintendo’s still trying to suck the life out of Palworld. No end to this in sight for a while though…sigh.
If you’re looking for a reason to return to Palworld beyond your adorable murder-bird collection, v0.6.4 might just be the nudge you needed.
Between the hardcore Moon Lord raid and enough QoL fixes to fill a Steam changelog novella, there’s real incentive here to rebuild, regrind, and possibly even enjoy the game without screaming.
So go ahead. Dust off your Paldeck. Resummon your squad. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll survive this time.
Let us know: did you beat Master Moon Lord? Or did he beat you into another corrupted save file?
