Capcom Extends Flamefete and TU3 Content into August Update

Monster Hunter Wilds Extends Flamefete

Look, Capcom knows you’re not done grinding yet (and I wasn’t either tbh).

Maybe you missed the beach ball-flavored armor from Tempered Uth Duna. Maybe you forgot to farm that absurdly stylish gunlance that looks like a snack cart exploded. Or maybe you were just too busy bashing Lagiacrus skulls to care. Whatever the case, good news: the Festival of Accord: Flamefete is getting extended, and with it comes a surprise payload of content originally meant for September’s big Title Update 3.

Yep. The devs smashed the emergency content glass and decided to pull some of TU3’s spicy meatballs forward into the upcoming 1.021 update, now dropping on August 13, 2025. That means more difficulty, more talismans, and more reasons to keep your build spreadsheet open at 2AM.

Let’s break it all down, then wrap it up with a little peek at what’s still on the horizon.

Flamefete Burns On in Monster Hunter Wilds

Originally set to end on July 29th, the Flamefete was Monster Hunter Wilds’ big summer bash. It featured fireworks, beach bumb aesthetics, and armor that looks like a Hawaiian shirt and trauma had a baby.

But now it’s officially been extended through August 13 to line up with Update 1.021’s release.

Monster Hunter Wilds Flamefete Continues

Why?

Because Capcom loves you…or, more likely, maybe because their roadmap was a little too front-loaded. Either way, the festival’s still live, and so are all its quests, cosmetics, and login rewards.

It’s like someone forgot to clean up after the party, so go loot the leftovers.

What’s Coming MWH Update 1.021 (August 13, 2025)

Originally just meant to be a balance patch, Update 1.021 is now looking a lot more substantial. And honestly? We’re here for it.

Monster Hunter Wilds Future Updates

New Quest Difficulty

Capcom heard your whining. The quests were too easy, you said. You wanted to suffer. Fine. This new tier of quests brings added difficulty and, more importantly, new rewards. Endgame players finally have something to sweat over again.

New Talisman Reward System

Welcome to RNG hell. These new high-difficulty quests will reward talismans with random skill combinations, letting you chase that god-roll build like it’s 2021 again. You’ll grind. You’ll cope. You’ll convince yourself this was fun.

Weapon Balance Adjustments (Bigger Than Expected)

The original plan was to tweak a few outliers – maybe fix a janky hitbox or tone down one-shot combos. Now? Capcom’s going broader. More weapons are getting adjusted than originally announced, which means it’s time to re-learn that combo you finally mastered last month.

Other Improvements and Fixes

They haven’t detailed this yet, but I expect QOL tweaks, possibly smoother PC performance, and maybe a bug fix for that one NPC who keeps T-posing during cutscenes? Fingers crossed.

Flamefete Highlights (Now Through August 13)

If you haven’t jumped in yet, now’s the time. Here’s what you can still do before the fireworks fizzle out:

Monster Hunter Wilds Summer What to Do

Event Quests

Pick Your Poison: Unlocks the Diver α set and a Palico Aloha set that’ll make your cat look like a regrettable tourist.

Putting Up a Stink: Rewards the Cornpopper Gunlance (yes, seriously) and some questionable summer shades for your handler.

Cosmetic Overload

Afi α armor, layered weapons, pendants, gestures, nameplates, and even some camp decorations. Basically, everything from the past few months was thrown in here like a digital garage sale.

Login Rewards

Daily gifts include Flamefete tickets, Barrel Bombs, and meal vouchers. Because nothing says celebration like food buffs and explosives.

Themed Hub Overhaul

The whole hub looks like a pool party thrown by someone with questionable taste. Fireworks, music, beach attire – Gemma’s in a bikini and Erik’s not looking like some LGBT icon. Good times.

TL;DR - What Should You Actually Do?

Task Why You Care
Daily logins Free stuff for zero effort
Event quests Cosmetics and goofy weapons (Cornpopper meta?)
Farm talismans (Aug 13) Because your current ones are garbage, probably
Prep for Title Update 3 This is the warm-up before the real show

Pro tip: if you skipped some of the earlier seasonal content, Flamefete has you covered. It’s basically Capcom’s catch-up week for fashion hunters and late bloomers.

Still Waiting: September's TU3 Will Bring the Real Heat

Let’s be honest. The August update is nice, but it’s not the main course. Title Update 3, still slated for late September, will bring an entirely new monster, a potential new zone, and maybe – just maybe – more lore progression depending on how generous the devs are feeling.

We’re also expecting:

  • Layered armor loadouts (finally)

  • Loadout-specific talisman linking

  • A new seasonal event with an autumn theme (pumpkin helmets? Haunted Palicos? Come on, just do it!)

So yes, August 13 is worth logging in for, but September is when we feast.

Enjoy It While It Lasts!

Capcom could’ve just let Flamefete burn out quietly.

Instead, they dropped a mid-summer surprise in Monster Hunter Wilds with a side of sweaty new content. We’re not complaining. We’re just hoping TU3 goes even harder – and maybe gives us a monster that doesn’t immediately get soloed in five minutes by a guy in shorts with a drum.

Catch you August 13. Talisman grinding awaits.
