Darkwater’s New Update Adds Chaos, Blood, and…Stickers?

Darkwater New Update Live Community Update 2

Darkwater Community Update #2 Dives Into the Deep End of Awesome

Yo Divers, keeper of torpedoes and underwater gore – Community Update #2 just dropped for Darkwater yesterday (June 26, 2025) like a goddamn depth charge, bringing Version 0.3.16 straight from Targon Studios.

Here’s what’s new under that frozen ocean crust:

  • Sticker cabinet in the lobby: flex your diver identity with flair.

  • Squeaky Hammer: because sometimes you gotta smash stuff… with style.

  • Blood effects: hell yeah, more visceral carnage FTW.

  • Apothecary table in Medbay: brew up some badass stat-boost soups.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Highlights include new rooms across outposts, mansion, factory, residential, storage zones – think locked storage quests, piano-themed dining rooms, elevator shafts, bunk halls…all ready to be looted or (more likely) cause you to die a little inside.

Church rooms in the Soviet residential outposts got the boot, so say your prayers elsewhere.

Oh, and it’s 20% off during the Steam Summer Sale through July 10th, perfect moment to recruit more suicidal pals.

Where The Community Update Sinks In

If you peeped our previous coverage, like the Darkwater’s 2025 Update Roadmap: A Promising Future, you’ll know Targon’s been on a roll, building toward a major summer expansion packed with weapons, enemies, rooms, and more.

This Update #2 is the foundation before that big wave drops.

And if you’re here because you’re still tip-toeing through the waterlogged chaos, check out our no-hype Darkwater Game Guide: How to Not Drown in Underwater FTL” – it’s a lifesaver!

Darkwater's New Update is Funny, Dark, and Damn Useful

  • Sticker cabinet = emo phase for your sub crew. Personalize like a boss while listening to My Chemical Romance.

  • Squeaky Hammer = therapeutic weapon or horror joke? Actually makes noise. How traumatizing for alien divers.

  • Blood FX = no more Xbox Kinect splatter-fails. Now it’s all wet and sticky horror.

  • Apothecary table = Mix those potions like you’re in Witcher mode.

  • Room blocks & quests = More places to die, loot, or spectate your buddies faceplant.

TL;DR and My Personal Update Rating

Community Update #2 is big, but nothing earth shattering: it adds visual juice, quality-of-life upgrades, bug-slayer fixes, and essentials ahead of the Summer Expansion.

It’s one helluva foundation and I’m looking forward to the BIG update.

If you’re vibing enough to try and survive the icy depths (and you should be, with that discount) now’s the time to jump in.

Verdict: Solid 6.5/10 for effort, polish, and definitely meme-ready content. Now go flex that sticker cabinet.
