Today, June 26, 2025, the R.E.P.O. Museum Update went live on the public branch (finally).
This isn’t just a bugfix patch. It’s a full-blown upgrade that’s been simmering on the beta branch. We’re talking chaos, firepower, moon cycles, and a museum full of loot that screams “come get vaporized trying.”
Here’s what’s new, what’s changed, and why this update is the perfect excuse to drag your squad back into the madness.
Fresh out of beta, the Museum of Human Art is a tall, elegant deathtrap built with love (and lasers). Imagine “Ocean’s Eleven” if everyone was sleep-deprived, broke, and adorably bumbling through motion sensors.

This map has serious verticality, tight corridors, and more than a few places where the game politely tells you to “git gud or get wrecked.”
Brand-new shiny junk to risk your life for: Cubic Tower, Traffic Light, Gumball Machine, Hand Face, Egg, Toy Car (and more). Sure, it’s technically “art,” but now it’s your art…assuming you survive long enough to extract it.
You can now see your teammates’ emotions: smug satisfaction, silent judgment, or pure panic as they miss a jump and fall into oblivion. It’s subtle, it’s cursed, and somehow it makes betrayal even funnier.
You can also combine your facial expressions to make new ones by pressing a combination of expression hotkeys at the same time!
Because falling with style beats falling like a sack of bricks. Float over laser fields like a budget superhero.
Finally, a crouch button that doesn’t just make you a smaller target. Recharge your stamina while pretending you know what you’re doing. This also charges your stamina up faster while you’re staying still.
R.E.P.O.’s armory just went from “questionably dangerous” to “who let these things in here?” Whether you’re into precision zapping, crowd control, or straight-up meme-tier chaos, there’s something for every flavor of mayhem.
Let’s break ‘em down:
Fires energy projectiles that stun enemies and launch them on impact (but deal little direct damage).
Comes with 6–12 charges, fueled by energy crystals and love.
Shoots electric bolts that stun enemies for ~1.5 seconds and deal small base damage plus impact damage if they hit a wall.
Typically offers 12–20 charges, powered by energy crystals.
A melee-electric baton that stuns enemies for ~3 seconds and deals minor initial and impact damage
Designed for close-quarters “tasing” gameplay.
Fires a charged laser beam, delivering about 270 damage over a multi-second burst (~45 damage per tick).
Great for sustained damage against bulky enemies.
A meme-tier utility: a bucket with a duck on it that can slow down apex predators when placed over their head.
Also functions as a portable hiding spot and adds comedic chaos to runs.
Attaches to the C.A.R.T. as a 4–5-shot explosive cannon, firing minecart shells that explode on impact, dealing massive damage in a small radius.
Turns your cart into a mobile artillery piece.
The high-tech sibling of the Cart Cannon: a beam laser mounted on the C.A.R.T., delivering up to 800 damage (100 per tick over ~8 ticks).
High accuracy, limited uses, and energy-dependent—great for boss clearing from afar.
A utility item that spawns a temporary bridge/platform, letting players traverse gaps or ascend to higher terrain.
Tactical gold for creative paths and escapes and an easy way to get into the secret area of the shop if it’s on sale.
Pulse Pistol, Boltzap, and Prodzap add useful stun options with varied range and tactical tiers.
Photon Blaster is your heavy hitter – it’s strong but energy hungry.
Duck Bucket isn’t about killing, it’s about chaos, hiding, and the lulz.
Cart Cannon and Laser are serious game changers for robo-boss-level damage and omega kamehama support.
Phase Bridge opens up vertical and lateral movement possibilities, valuable for quick runs and platforming routes.
The new moon cycle mechanic introduces shifting effects every five levels after starting at level 10.

All of them exist to ruin your run in the most creative ways possible. If you thought the game was chaotic before, wait until the moon decides to hate you personally.
Matchmaking just got real.
You can now play with strangers using region filters, password-protected lobbies, and (thank the devs) a proper kick button. Whether you’re teaming up with randoms or trying to carry your reckless friends, getting into a run is easier than ever.
Ok, there’s a LOT of balance changes and bug fixes so instead of writing all of that out, here’s a little collapsable thing from the R.E.P.O. patch notes:
Absolutely!
The Museum Update brings vertical thrills, fresh loot, expressive teammates, wild new weapons, moon-induced chaos, and matchmaking that doesn’t require summoning a Discord squad.
Whether you’re a veteran looter or brand new to the madness, this update is the perfect time to dive back in.
It’s a statement: the devs took community feedback, flipped the beta inside out, and came back swinging with lasers, loot, and lunar lunacy. It’s bigger. It’s bolder. It’s bloodthirsty in the best way possible.

Now go rob that museum like your Steam library depends on it.

Hi, I'm the founder and editor-in-chief of Report AFK, a gaming and anime site built for people who are tired of sanitized mainstream media coverage and toothless hot takes. I want to bring both the technical know-how and battle-tested gamer instincts to every article here. Whether I'm deep-diving into ARAM strats, roasting a broken patch, or side-eyeing the latest "diverse" but soulless AAA release, I write with one goal in mind: cut the fluff and tell it how it is. I've worked in digital marketing and spoke in conferences nationwide, but my heart’s always been in the trenches of gaming - whether that’s grinding ladders, theorycrafting late at night, or binge-watching the 38th questionable isekai this season. Follow my rants, insights, and updates on ReportAFK.com and let me know what you think in the comments - I read (and usually respond to) every. single. one.
A place for gamers, by gamers, untarnished by corporate gaming media and their nonstop attempts to elevate bad games while denouncing any developers brave enough to stand up to them.
