This R.E.P.O. Beta Update Goes Hard
The open beta of R.E.P.O. just got a massive injection of chaos, courtesy of semiwork’s latest update.
If you thought the game was wild before, buckle up – now you can glide like a deranged Tinker Bell, build bridges to wherever your robotic heart desires, and blast enemies with a handheld cannon that screams “overcompensating.”
I already got the Pulse Pistol covered in another R.E.P.O. post, but here are the rest for ya:
New Items to Break the Game (and Your Team)
Photon Blaster aka Handheld Portable Cart Laser
This isn’t your grandma’s laser pointer. The Photon Blaster is a high-powered, hand-held death beam that turns you into a walking light show of destruction. Perfect for those moments when subtlety is overrated and you want to announce your presence with authority.

I was honestly having too much fun activating, then throwing it and watching the show. Reminded me of the dumb kids (definitely not me) that lit and threw bottle rockets in the air (don’t play with bottle rockets kids).
The Phase Bridge
Ever wanted to play architect in the middle of a monster-infested hellscape? Now you can!

The Phase Bridge lets you build temporary walkways, opening up new tactical routes -or new ways to troll your teammates by leading them into traps and pulling it out from underneath them.
You’re not a good teammate until you build a bridge above some monsters and say, “Trust me, it’s safe.”
Upgrades & Buffs: Movement Is the Meta Now
Tumble Wings Upgrade
Slap on a pair of fairy wings and embrace your inner chaos sprite. The Tumble Wings Upgrade grants you the ability to glide gracefully – or not so gracefully – down from heights. It’s both adorable and practical, letting you descend upon unsuspecting enemies like a whimsical harbinger of doom.

Strap on the Photon Blaster and you’re basically a Tinker Bell with PTSD and a death beam ready to send enemies straight to hell.
Crouch Rest Upgrade
There is a Quality of Life change below that explains this more (exciting!), but this will increase the rate at which you regenerate stamina while crouching.

Bottom line – Tactical teabagging is now a survival mechanic. Progress.
QoL Fixes: The Glow-Up Patch R.E.P.O. Needed
Stamina Regen While Crouching
Crouching isn’t just for stealth anymore! No more awkwardly standing in corners waiting for your stamina to trickle back. Now, you can crouch and recover, making stealthy approaches and quick getaways more viable.
Dynamic Healing Prices
Health packs and energy crystals now scale in cost based on your team size. Solo players won’t be bankrupted, and larger teams won’t exploit the economy. It’s a win-win – unless you’re the team’s designated wallet.
Physics Rework for Strength
Say goodbye to your weapons jittering like they’re possessed. The physics overhaul ensures that strength builds no longer cause your gear to have a mind of its own.
Now, you can Hulk out without your inventory twerking into oblivion.
What's Coming Next in R.E.P.O. Updates?

Hey Imabot (funny, I get enough bots) but yea it’s live on the beta branch of R.E.P.O., not the public live one. It’s really easy to get onto the open beta though, here are some directions (near the bottom).
